Wow, what a great top ten Angela! It was fun not knowing what was going to be the next bread. It would have been very difficult for me to pick 10. I do have to agree that the Lava Bread would be in the top of my list also.

Mind you, I was very surprised at some of the breads that didn’t make the list. Like the Roasted Potato and Onion Bread, the Lemon Brioche Croissants, BBQ Pork Buns, Granville Island Beer Bread, Samosa bread or the Red River Cereal Bread. What about the Panettone or the Triple Onion and Bacon buns, the Vanilla Sugar Sweet Buns, or the Semolina Panini Buns?

I didn’t see the Cornbread and the Hot Cross Buns, or the Banana Bread with Kiwi either. I’m sure the Corn Cakes and the Chocolate Babka along with the Savory Breakfast Bread, Buckwheat and Pear Bread, Sourdough Biscuits could have made the top ten too.

Looking down the list you could have added the Strawberry bread, Challah bread – it made the most delicious French toast. Then there was the Carrot Buns and the Pumpkin Raisin Bread. Did you forget the Pumpernickel or the Multigrain bread?

Did you not see the Apple Tart Bread, Cranberry Bread or Lemon Loaf?

OMG! You didn’t put in the Butternut Squash Bread or Zucchini Bread.

Angie, I think Alzheimer’s has set in ( lol ) You didn’t mention the Doughnuts, the Christmas Stuffing or the Ham and Cheese Bread? How could you forget the Ham and Cheese Bread?

Those Soft Honey Dinner Buns where amazing (I seem to recall you “testing” quite a few of these!) and could have made the top ten along with the Kugelhopf, it was stunning to look at. I loved the Cookie Scones and the Pretzels along with the Cauliflower Honey Parantas, the Chocolate Scones and the Bread soup!

I just don’t know if I agree with your Top Ten Bread recipes of 2008. Then again, that’s why you did the top ten and not me. Really, any of these bread recipes could have made the top ten. I’m so proud of all my recipes and hope that all our guests enjoy these recipes also.

I would love to hear what you thought of the top ten list and maybe get your top ten list too!

Hi! I just found your site and LOVE all the bread ideas. I come from a Czech background, and my family has been a make-your-own-bread bunch for years. Imagine my dismay to be diagnosed with wheat intolerance…but look at those yummy sounding recipes you have for wheat-free breads. Thanks for the great ideas!!

I am also new to your blog and reading through the breads you describe which were not on the top ten list have made me gutted at what I have missed! Apple Tart bread and Strawberry bread in particular sound glorious :D
