These have to be the cutest little bread loaves in the world. If your looking for the wow factor, here’s the bread for you. The shape of the bread and the pear stencil on the top is very cute. I tried to draw my own stencil without any success. You would think a pear would be easy to make. Well, I’m one of those people how can’t even draw a straight line no less a pear. So, I googled for a pear drawing and found the perfect photo of a pear. I printed it out and cut it. Placed it on the dough and it was the perfect size for these loaves. Here’s the address to where I found this pear pic here.
The flavor of this bread is subtle with a wonderful sweet and savory taste of the wine soaked pears. I love the freshness of the white wine and pears soaked together they make a perfect combination. The toasted hazelnuts add a bit of a crunch and a nutty taste as does the buckwheat flour. The shape is very appealing too. I think thats what gives this bread the wow factor.

I’ve been wanting to try this recipe in a bread baking book I have. Never used a stencil for putting a pattern on bread before :)
