Chocolate Banana Crunch Bread

Each week, I never know what I’m going to make for the blog. I like it to be a little spontaneous even though I think it drives my sister crazy. She always asks me “what are we making next week”, so I can prepare for it or think about it throughout the week. I always say ” I haven’t decided yet ” usually it’s the day before our cooking day that I make my decision or sometimes I’ll changed my mind overnight and making something completely different. To me, bread making is a feeling or a mood. Sometimes, I want to make something quick and easy, other times I may want to really feel the dough and play with it. So, I’ll choose something that takes time and is more creative. Mind you, I’m always making bread and testing recipes or thinking about ideas. Some work great and others … well, lets just say they end up in the dump where only the seagulls and crows will see them.

I love taking a recipe and making a twist to it, making it my own. It’s wonderful when you create something that everyone goes “wow” what a great idea. Like the Star of David bagels or the Cornbread with quails eggs or even the Semolina Focaccia. I also have to give my sister credit for the wonderful photos she takes. I keep telling her she should get into food photography biz, she’s a natural.

This week, I wanted to make something quick. It’s very hot and I didn’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Plus, I had about 20 frozen bananas in the freezer that my wife wanted to be removed, so she’d have room for the groceries.

I know that everyone loves Banana bread and Chocolate. So, I made a Banana Chocolate Crunch Bread. I wish you were here to taste this bread, it has the perfect amount of chocolate and banana and then you get the crunch from the small toffee bits. It’s wonderful and truly tastes as good as it looks. Moist, sweet and delicious all at the same time. Yummy!

Chocolate and banana seems to get the big thumbs up around here – I think every 3rd thing on my blog is chocolate and bananas. I think my family calls it “obsession”….:)

Your banana chocolate crunch looks like I would make it without hesitation.

I love when loaf breads taste more like cake, kind of like this one. Ultra sweet and moist, they are the perfect morning treat. Or midnight snack. Or afternoon pick me up… haha they are good all the time!
